Have you ever found yourself in need of a quick and fun Christmas gift for someone who may or may not be tricky to shop for? Well, I sure have!
Luckily, I came across pictures of crocheted Christmas Pickles. What a perfect little unique and fun gift for someone. And the story behind the Christmas Pickle makes it even better.
The story behind the Christmas Pickle is that a pickle ornament is hidden on the Christmas tree and the first person to find the ornament on Christmas morning receives and extra present. What a fun tradition to start, especially with little kids.
So got to work and made a couple of these cute little ornaments for gifts. I package them in small organza bags along with a printable tag from The Knotty Boss that is not only adorable but includes a little poem about the meaning behind the pickle.

To close the top of your pickle, weave the tail of the yarn through the front loops of the top stitches using a yarn needle then pull tight to close. Finish by weaving the tail around the circle a couple times and tucking the tail inside the pickle.
To hang your pickle, you can attach a string or ornament hanger on it. I like to use a piece of twine for mine.
I hope you enjoyed this pattern!!
